RECYCLING in Islington has reached its highest ever levels, according to a council survey announced on Tuesday. In January this year, 26 per cent of waste in the borough was recycled. This is the highest rate Islington has seen, and Islington Council have announced a new door-knocking campaign to try and boost these numbers. Uniformed staff are to go to homes and explain the council recycling policy to residents and encourage them to use the collection services.
